wow. it’s been a loooong time since i’ve posted but i have good reasons. since my last post, i have had one of the most amazing life changing life rewarding awesome epic all possible positive adjectives at burning man. a festival that everyone should experience at least once (and after that, as many times as humanly possible). since my last post, i have embarked on a journey starting in vancouver, canada all the way down the west coast until san fran camping, hiking, existing within nature…all the way to new york where i am temporarily pro chillin’ until i leave to continue my love for travel and engulfment of culture further south in the latin americas.
since my last post i have been blessed with amazing people that have come into my life and introduced me to many things…especially good music. so, this post…is just a tease. OOOOOoooooOOOa tease. oh yes. i have a bigger post coming up with photos aaaaaaaaaand i think, one of the best mixtapes to come out on atm, EVA. hope y’all had an awesome thanksgiving and enjoy these songs, pump up the volume, and keep it dirty for me until the mixtape is out!

hi everyone! hope all is well. i have started my travels and have left my home of montreal and am now in san fran, then eventually burning man, and then the wooooooooooooooooorld! so updates are gonna be pretty rare from now on i imagine…though they aren’t that often to at this moment anyways. i thought i’d leave you guys with three tracks from this amazingggg israeli band habanot nechama. incredible women, beautiful voices, reggae chill and soul. please buy their music here!

hi everyone, sorry for the lack in posts. have been very busy lately…just got back from toronto from the g20 after a week of protesting, marching, and being a flood of different emotions at once.
will hopefully have a mixtape for you all soon…i have one prepared already from last month but now with the montréal jazz festival starting…it may be even more postponed…but there will be jazz fest coverage!
meanwhile…DON’T believe mainstream media and how they have horribly misrepresented the people, the protest, and our ideologies as well as how they’ve glamorized the police.
go outside of the system. a good place to start for all g20 related news is the 2010 media co-op as well as justin and lex.
See you there.

So, I decided to start a new page called “Watch” which is just at the top along with the “Home”, “Speak”, and “About” links. I’ll try to post new movies every month or so that I really liked. The first for this month will be the documentary “Earthlings”, which made me super depressed by the end of it and has reified what was in the back of my conscience in the first place. It’s super informative and I think everyone should see this before they make the choices they do, good or bad. Anyways, I hope you will like it as much as I did!
Enjoy!

OSHEAGA 2010 will be happening July 31-August 1st in Montréal. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. For the first time in years the lineup is WORTH going to despite horrible organisation due to it’s newness.
This lineup is freakin’ awesome.
Weekend passes in advance for $120. Late birds pay more. Check out the website for more details!
See you there!

Another mixtape will be on the way soon
and will include a lot of tracks from more great new albums this year as well as tracks from artists that are touring and will be doing lots of festivals! March is so ridiculous for shows and already this month I have more than 7 shows to see.
NEON AND HIGH FOOD MONTRÉAL have a THREE DAY festival coming up featuring: FLYING LOTUS!!! GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH *DIES* FLYING LOTUS! BENGA! FAKE BLOOD! JOAKIM! DUCHESS SAYS! AND MORE! Outside of the festival they’re hosting Aeroplane! Neon Indian! Silly Kissers! and more!
So sick.
Calvin Harris, Air, Joanna Newsom, the Clientele and many others are also making they’re way to Montréal this month! CALVIN HARRIS! I missed him at Coachella and I still regret it.
Anyways, I recently listened to Hot Chip’s new album One Life Stand and have determined that they will never live up to Coming On Strong or even The Warning, which for me (and for Taha
), is one of those classic dance albums. There are a few good singles on there like “One Life Stand” and “Keep Quiet”, but other than that it is a very very mainstream sound compared to their former works and not very much stands out. So this led me to go on a The Warning binge so to speak, and I haven’t been able to let go of listening to this album for a few days now.
I decided to share one of my favorite songs of all time “Boy From School” and a cover of it done by Grizzly Bear. I don’t think they did it justice…but “Boy From School” is one of those tracks that are absolutely untouchable, so perfect already. But the Grizzly Bear cover is a completey different side of it, and they did somewhat keep the harmonies that I love so much…so it’s not too bad
Hot Chip are playing Coachella this year! They kicked my ass when I saw them in the Sahara in 2008.
Enjoy! and check out those shows!

I am back from NYC. Two long weeks of dancing, music, sight seeing, and the FOOD. Yum. Good food. Updates to come on my KYLIE concert, CMJ, and more. I definitely had this song in my head the entire time…and it’s so fitting for New York. It’s just too bad I don’t have that much money to blow. But the song is sexy and makes me feel like I do! BRAP BRAP!
