Hi all, I am now in Montreal! HOORAAAH! But am looking for a place to move to since well, I can’t stay at my friends forever tee hee. I’ve been meaning to do so many updates but as usual my alter obsession for film and tv have taken up my blogging time. I LOVE the Big Bang Theory. Does anyone else watch this? It’s a great show filled with nerd humor. En tout cas, I’ll be taking another hiatus until I can get properly settled in.

Things I plan on updating you guys on:

Zee Avi, Ebrahim, Klaus & Kinski, Flunk, Trickform, and a bunch of others in probably another JAM PACKED!

Festival coverage; I am going to BONNAROO, BITCHES! and after that, the Montreal Jazz Festival (the best jazz festival/festival ever).

Live shows;  Phoenx, The Field/Juan Maclean, No Doubt, and a shitload of other stuff.

I have so much to cover!!! So stay tuned!

I shall leave you with a song that took me FOREVER to find, probably an hour or so jaj. It’s this old school Mexican rock band that ruled the nation in the sixties, called Los Dug Dug’s. Enjoy!

MP3: Los Dug Dug’s – Yo No Se

P.S. if anyone has ANY Los Dug Dug’s stuff they’d like to pass my way that’d be great! Finding their stuff is so damn difficult!

atm-keiko's roxy mae

This week’s worth of videos is dedicated to Grizzly Bear’s amazing single “Two Weeks” off their new release Veckatimest. I think this is one of the best songs of the year and when I need something to lift me up I blast this and sing as if I were an entire orchestra and choir. It’s powerful stuff. They just released their video for this and it is just fantastic. But, I did like another video other than the one they released which I feel, captures the soul and optimism of the song better than the official video. Also, this dedicated to Barcelona’s win against Manchester United today. Great game! The photo, which also captures “Two Weeks” wonderfully, is courtesy of Keiko (a wonderful designer and photographer and model and writer—phewf—and you can go to her page on my links on the left!)

Glastonbury is easily one of the largest festivals in the world. With more than just music, Glastonbury is an arts festival, offering up festivals within festivals like Shangri-La, Trash City, and Circus and Theatre areas. But really, the 5+ stages of music with more than 1000+ musicians is really what the festival is all about. For just £185 total, you can get a pass to this four day mayhem (June 24-28) and this INCLUDES the camping pass. What a deal. Just absolutely ridiculous. Too bad it’s all SOLD OUT. This is my dream festival, if only I was heading to the UK 2 months earlier!!! After the jump for the most amazing lineup yet. Don’t shit yourself. =)

giant panda

Sexual harassment. Panda! That was a South Park reference. Tee hee. This photo is part of a Zoo series for one of my favorite photography websites, The Big Picture. Anyways, I have finally finished the mixtape I have been meaning to get out with all the stuff I have been obsessed with for the past three hectic months. Some of the artists I have already reviewed, some of them I will end up doing a more in depth review on AtM, and some I am not! This will also be posted on Ca Va Cool, another fantastic music blog I contribute to, but I figured I’d give you guys a  sneak peek. This mixtape is almost a week old now, but it’s all be zipped up so I couldn’t make the changes I would have by now. Oh well, it still rocks! Go after the jump to see my to-be-posted post for CVC!

atm-zee avi

You know when you look at an artist and get some weird preconception of how they’d sound? And most of the time, it’s not that far off? Well a lil’ lady by the name of Zee Avi popped up in my inbox the other day and after watching her “Bitter Heart” video, which you can watch below, I was completely blown away and I immediately got the album. I have yet to listen to it as I’m catching up on some old new stuff but a review will come in a few weeks, hopefully. She goes by the name of Koko Kaina and she’s from Malaysia. She’s 23 but she is such an old soul. I fell in love with her smile and her voice. She sounds like Regina Spektor, Jenn Grant, a bit of Feist, and the Hawaiian that is Jack Johnson all rolled into one! How great! Her three minute rendition is filled with insouciant folk and heartfelt lyricism and vocal perfection. The last 20 seconds of this song makes my heart split into a million butterflies. Watch the video and see what I mean!

Her album drops May 19th, I’m defs going to shell out the dollars for this one. Buy the album and watch Koko talk about her influences and the process of making her first self titled debut here. She’ll also be playing at Bonnaroo coming up!

Vodpod videos no longer available.
As I’m sure you all know, Conan will be taking over for Leno on June 1st. It’s been confirmed that Conan will be Jay’s last guest on May 29th just like how Conan, the new guy, was Letterman’s last guest before taking over late night. End of an era and the beginning of a new one! Just thought I’d share this great video of the good ol’ days…14 years ago.

atm-daft punk remix after all

It’s no secret that Bradford Cox, head man of Atlas Sound, is a genius. That’s right, a genius. Over the years, Deerhunter was created with the help of his friend Lockett Pundt, who is the dude behind the more recent Lotus Plaza. The bands release of Cryptograms and the Fluorescent Grey EP back in 2007 rocket launched their names into the musicoblogosphere, bringing the indie music scene with a post-punk contemporary psychedelic ambient sound, a perfect blend of both Cox and Pundt’s individual efforts.

Deerhunter releases their latest effort after last years Microcastle, an album that was incessantly blogged about and appeared in many year end Top 10 lists. An album that brought us gems like “Never Stops”, “Agoraphobia”, and “Nothing Ever Happens”. Their new release on to come June 9th, Rainwater Cassette Exchange, is a five song EP that…effin’ rules! More after the jump!

I love music and want to share as much of it as I can! My promise with this site is that I will only post things I like.
