Hi all, I am going to do a super super condensed post because I am now in New York. Anyways, went to the Piknik yesterday to see Minilogue and DJ Koze who rocked the shit out of the island, even in the rain. Ah. That’s what I love about Montreal, rain, snow, or shine, we never lose our fight to party and to dance. Oh ye.

BUT, easily the best the show of the FESTIVAL was Ben Frost. Mon dieeeeeeeeeeuu. From what I recognized, he didn’t play very much from his most recent album By The Throat. His songs were at least 20 minutes long filled with lulling drones and layers of nature and wildlife…whales crying and wind blowing through the forests…I sat down and closed my eyes and his set took me places…it ended so quikly I felt. His show was the subconscious awakening, vibrating inbetween the walls of our skin and the walls we were encased in…so intense, surreal, and wonderful all at the same time. This man is incredible. I share with you two amazing tracks from said album!

I hope you all had a great time at Mutek like I did!

I want to marry Björk. I think she is one of the few artists that can make such explosively powerful music with such seeming ease. With just one cry, she makes all my hairs stand on end and my heart well up to the point of explosion, sating everything one could ever want in a song. I’ve been listening to a lot of her lately too. There’s too much music to listen to it overwhelms me so I procrastinate listening to the “new stuff” and I retreat back into my lovely cocoon of past music. Once I enter back into a discography like Björk’s, it’s just too hard to leave because I just don’t want to be saved from the darkness. I am a fountain of blood, in the shape of a girl. You’re the bird on the brim, hypnotized by the whirl… HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEA!!!

Anyways, here is one of my favorite favorite all time favorite favorite love love loved songs of all time. Of ALL TIME. Ok. I think I made myself clear. After the jump!

P.S. I am still working on those updates guys! Have faith! Gaaah!

This is Torrini’s first North American tour and Montréal is her first date. OOOOOO we’re her firsts!!! Yippeee!!!! Artists from Iceland can do no wrong. I’ve tried to prove otherwise. I have since given up.

Who is this opener, Anya Marina? For once I go to an opener and I am so so pleased. A cute, blonde, and sassy Russian from Los Angeles whose voice feeds you into the euphoria that only blue cloudless skies atop of soft green grass and a nap can give. I would have been happy to have seen just her that night for the ticket ($20). Truly. Truly. But I get Emiliana too?!?!?

A truly glorious bill. Ah, finally. I am going to recap this wonderful show. After the jump!
